Industrial Design Engineer

Neera is a complex hardware-software platform that includes multiple hardware units; including a “brain” unit, sensing and actuation modules, as well as a mobile app and backend infrastructure.

We are looking for an Industrial Design Engineer - a hybrid person between industrial design and mechanical design.

You will be the third key person in the product design team, helping the industrial designer and mechanical design engineer move faster.

Your role is to turn design intent into workable 3D concepts, CAD details, prototypes and practical product solutions.

You will work closely with our ID, MD, Product, HW team and ODM partner in China.

Days 0-30: Understand and Start Helping

• Review current PRD, CMF, concepts, CAD, prototypes and product direction.

• Understand the design language, user experience and structure of all three modules.

• Support fast CAD iterations between ID and MD.

• Help connect hard parts, soft parts and hidden hardware into one product logic.

• Join ODM discussions and help translate feedback into clear design actions.

Result:
You are fully inside the product, already improving CAD, prototypes and team speed.

Days 30-90: Iterate Toward DVT with ODM

• Develop and refine 3D concepts, CAD details and prototype solutions.

• Support the Hub, Bed Topper and Actuation Modules in parallel.

• Help solve open questions around form, comfort, layout, construction and integration.

• Prepare simple drawings, mockups, renders and visual explanations.

• Work with ID, MD and ODM through EVT to move the product toward the DVT stage.

Result:
A stronger product design package, with clear ODM alignment and readiness for the next development stage.

• Work at the intersection of industrial design and mechanical design.

• Help turn product ideas into real 3D designs and prototypes.

• Support ID with CAD, form development and feasibility.

• Support MD with layouts, part details and design iterations.

• Help develop hard parts and soft parts: enclosures, textiles, foam, hidden hardware and assembly logic.

• Keep form, function, comfort and construction aligned.

• Help the team move faster across several hardware modules at once.

• 4+ years in industrial design, product design engineering or mechanical product design.

• Strong 3D CAD skills.

• Good visual taste and understanding of consumer products.

• Practical understanding of how physical products are built.

• Experience with prototypes, mockups and fast iterations.

• Ability to work with designers, engineers and manufacturing partners.

• Experience with audio, haptic, vibroacoustic or wellness products.

• Experience with soft goods, textiles, cushions, mattresses or home hardware.

• Experience integrating hard components into soft products.

• Experience working with Chinese ODM / OEM partners.

• Ability to make quick renders, mockups or physical prototypes.

You are a practical hybrid designer-engineer.

You can shape form, build CAD, solve product problems, prepare prototypes and keep the design moving.

You are the person who helps industrial design and mechanical design meet in the middle - and makes the team faster.
